Video Examples
For this assignment, we were tasked with creating a video which was exactly one minute long with the theme of creation or destruction. We were not required to include audio outside of what was recorded by the camera, and aside from a few required shots, such as an extreme close up and a rack focus, we were given freedom to shoot what we wanted to. I recorded this footage in our school’s library and the entire production was prepared and executed by myself. I also handled all of the editing for this assignment, which proved to be tricky when it came to shortening all the footage I had gathered into a one minute video. Overall, though, I am very proud of how the final product turned out, and I think this gave me a lot of experience with planning out a story and recording it.
This assignment was the final project of my Video Production course, which required us to make a three minute fiction story from start to finish, including planning, scriptwriting, filming, and editing. For this project, I was in charge of helping plan and write the script for our scene, as well as getting all of the camera footage during the shoot. Since we were in such a confined area, we had to get a bit creative with how we positioned the camera during our shots, but in the end, all of the shots turned out well and created a great story. This was also one of my first group assignments when it came to electronic media, and I think it taught me a lot about proper communication and helping others out in this line of work.
